Weihua successfully delivered six units of 5-ton overhead cranes to a large aluminum manufacturing factory located in Yunnan, China. These tailor-made lifting devices are built to support a 900,000-ton eco-friendly hydropower aluminum integrated production project. The full installation and erection work has been fully completed, and all cranes are ready to be officially put into daily production service.

This electrolytic aluminum workshop project is equipped with six multi-purpose overhead cranes covering CLE and PTM series models. Specially optimized for prebaked electrolytic aluminum production lines, they deliver high-precision feeding of aluminum raw materials. Equipped with dual-trolley synchronous linkage control, the cranes can safely hoist anode bus frames and upper components of electrolytic cells, bringing substantial improvements to overall production throughput.

1. Dual-Girder & Dual-Trolley Integrated Layout

This overhead crane adopts a robust double-girder double-trolley framework, consisting of main bridge beams, trolley traverse assemblies, 32/5-ton composite trolley, independent 32-ton trolley, full electric drive system and intelligent control cabinet.

2. Raised Main Girders Expand Maximum Hook Lift Height

Elevated girder design effectively raises the upper travel limit of lifting hooks, enabling convenient hoisting and transit of aluminum ladles. Stable connecting joints link end carriages with main beams to maintain integral structural rigidity; such connection design also simplifies factory transportation and on-site assembly.

3. Variable Frequency Speed Regulation System

All trolley travel assemblies are equipped with variable frequency control modules that feature easy daily maintenance. The system realizes smooth, shock-free braking and prevents driving wheel slipping during cyclic operation. Horizontal guiding wheels are mounted to restrain lateral swinging during the crane’s longitudinal travel.

4. Miniaturized Compact Hoisting Assembly

The hoisting unit adopts a streamlined compact layout paired with surface-hardened gear components, which significantly extends the effective vertical travel range of the lifting hook.

5. Dual High-Speed Brakes Plus Independent Low-Speed Safety Brake

Apart from dual brake sets installed on high-speed transmission shafts, an extra low-speed safety brake is fitted directly on the winding drum. Once the control system detects drum stalling or unexpected load drop risks, the auxiliary safety brake will instantly engage to lock the load. Fixed pulley blocks and standardized wire rope connectors greatly simplify inspection and component replacement.

6. Double-Deck Trolley with Isolation Protection

The travelling trolley features a two-layer stacked structure with reliable insulating components installed between upper and lower layers to block electric conduction paths. This unique layout further optimizes the hook’s maximum upward travel distance.
